We found her a few days after she was born, right on the highway. Her brother didn't survive the impact. She did — tiny, defenseless, but alive.
We named her Ratita (Little Rat). With those blue eyes she could barely open, she depended on us for everything. We bottle-fed her, kept her warm, and watched her grow day by day for two months.
Every early morning waking up to feed her was worth it. When the time came, we found the ideal family for her — people who were waiting for her with open arms.
